Hugo Ekitike bid of £38m tabled as Chelsea eye the 'next Kylian Mbappe'

The youngster has been heavily linked with a transfer away from Reims this summer, with a number of clubs reportedly interested

Chelsea have another monumental summer ahead of them. After a rollercoaster of a season, the Blues will be hoping that their takeover can be concluded as swiftly as possible so attention can turn elsewhere.

That somewhere else will, of course, be the upcoming summer transfer window. Thomas Tuchel will be looking to refresh his squad in his image before gearing them up for another lengthy campaign at the helm.

Discussing the upcoming challenges, the German coach said: “I don't know where we are from day one. What I can promise is that I will be here - if I can promise that - and I will be here with full energy and positive energy no matter what.

“We will still work for Chelsea and I refuse to think of negative scenarios. We will be competitive, on which level we will see.”

One area that the Blues could look to strengthen is in the attacking third, where the returning Romelu Lukaku has failed to flatter, while those around him have also struggled to find the net. Out of the names linked, one for the future could be Reims forward Hugo Ekitike, who is believed to be free to leave the Ligue 1 side this summer.

Chelsea have been linked, with the 19-year-old ten and assisting four in 24 league appearances this campaign. His meteoric rise has been likened to Kylian Mbappe, though he could soon be lining up with him, in a blow to the West London outfit.

That’s because, according to Santi Aouna, via GFFN, PSG are ready to make a bid of €45million (£38million) to land the youngster. Whether the Blues, or any of the other interested parties, can match that remains to be seen.

However, with priorities spread across the whole squad for recruitment this summer, it may mean that attention turns to other targets to bring to Stamford Bridge.
