Manchester United joined by Aston Villa in race for transfer Bayern Munich want


Aston Villa have made an impressive start to the summer transfer window having already signed three players before the end of this month.

The club turned Philippe Coutinho's loan move into a permanent transfer while Boubacar Kamara was signed on a free and Brazilian Diego Carlos swapped Sevilla for Villa last week. And reports claim that head coach Steven Gerrard wants to continue adding quality to his squad ahead of a crucial 2022/23 campaign.

Villa begin their pre-season preparations later this summer and Gerrard wants the bulk of the club's new arrivals to be signed before the club jets off to Australia in July. The Athletic claim that Villa will aim to add five outfield players to Gerrard's squad before the window shuts following the arrivals of Coutinho, Kamara and Diego Carlos.
